Dementia Care
We have a positive approach to dementia care and would not exclude you from any part of our service because you have a diagnosis of dementia.
At Hopton Care Cottages we have a separate neighbourhood called Lauder for people living with a dementia. This enables people to live in a safe and secure home and for staff to focus solely on their varying needs.
Our staff have specialised training and our objective is for people living with dementia to have a good experience of care.
Many of our staff have had the opportunity to further develop their Person Centred Care Skills, undertaking 'Corner Stones' training with Bradford University who are at the forefront of pioneering high quality dementia care.
In addition, the care manager for the Lauder neighbourhood is Ann Fisher who is a qualified nurse with 25 years experience caring for people with a dementia and a host of specialist professional qualifications.
